Acts 18:28

“In Achaia, Apollos vigorously refuted the Jews in public debates, proving from the scriptures that Jesus is the Christ”.

Observing the book of Acts closely, we see that all the apostles and disciples adopted Jesus’ style of handling the scriptures. They did not abuse the scriptures by using them to back their ideas or teach their own philosophies. They used the scriptures as a tool to reveal Jesus Christ, his sufferings, and the glory that follows. This is the purpose of the scriptures and that is exactly how they handled it.  That’s how Jesus did it in Luke 24:27, Philip did the same in Acts 8:35, Apollos did it in Acts 18: 28, and Apostle Paul did the same in Acts 17:3 and Acts 28:23.
