THE PURPOSE OF THE SCRIPTURES

2 Timothy 3:16

From a child, you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

The ultimate purpose of the scriptures is to help people come to the place of salvation. The theme of the scripture is Salvation and the Main Character of the Bible is Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, many have been carried away by the many characters, stories, moral lessons, and inspirations in the Bible that they have lost sight of Christ who is the main character, and Salvation which is the grand theme. Everything falls in place when we read the Bible through the lens of the finished work of Christ.
