“But while his son was still a long way off, his father saw Him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw His arms around his neck and kissed Him” Luke 15:20
The word prodigal means extremely generous and lavishly wasteful. Observing the story of “The Prodigal Son” we see that it was the Father that was prodigal. The boy’s wastefulness was at his expense. When the boy returned home, it was still the father who restored and threw him a party. God is the prodigal father. He willingly spends himself for us. The cross is the evidence of God’s prodigal love for us!
