“The son said to him, ‘Father I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son” Luke 15:21
Like the ‘prodigal son,’ most Christians feel unworthy to be called sons of God because they feel they have sinned against God. The sense of unworthiness before God is triggered by sin consciousness. It breeds fear, uncertainty, anxiety, and self-imposed limitations. Ephesians 1:6-7 reminds us that we are accepted and fully forgiven of all trespasses by God’s own will and grace therefore we no longer have to feel unworthy in life or before Him. He is proud to call us His sons no matter what.
